For some, a hoodie symbolizes comfort and relaxation… snuggling up on a cold day, wrapping the hood around your ears to keep warm. That soft, thick material… i can feel the weight as I write this.

For others, it symbolizes escape. At times, we all want to hide, to shrink, to disappear, even just for a little while. There is comfort in blending into your environment and being anonymous.

For me, this sculpture was an excercise in free sculpting: no measurements, no armature, no particular direction, no plan at all, really. I had a vertical board, a lump of clay and a smooth, puddy knife… and it was 2AM. What evolved came from pure emotion and this piece has since become on of my favorites.

Several of the plaster castings of this wall hanging were sent to various artist friends of mine to paint their versions. I sell naked plaster castings as well so you can paint from your own inspiration. Each piece is 11” tall, 8” wide and 3” deep.
