low frequency

I was looking for an old, lead guitar from which to steal the neck for this piece. Ultimately, I found something way better… a bass guitar neck (joke for my guitarist friends). Bass is defined as understated, powerful, rhythmic glue.

Actually, it’s the neck from my first bass guitar. In the interest of bass guitar rights, this one was not destroyed, just dismantled and will one day be reunited with the body. This work is the first in a series of musical instrument - hand sculptures. I find it fascinating the contortions of agile hands performing intricate musical gymnastics upon the neck of a violin or the keys of a clarinet.
