shaka

There isn’t much agreement on the orgin of the Hawaiian “shaka” sign and the sentiment is equally diverse. Among islanders, it expresses solidarity, understanding and compassion… the “aloha” spirit. Among mainlanders, it is typically a greeting associated with the culture of boarders on water, concrete or snow, climbers and flyers of all types. It sparks feelings of positivity, adventure and friendship… that’s why I agreed to do this commission for a cool dude here in Coeur d’Alene.

It is a wall-hanging sculpture and is cast in plaster, or upon request, in bronze.
